Alastair made his name competing within British Motorsport. A competitor from the age of eight, Alastair has competed in Karting, Car Trials, Sporting Trials, Classic Trials, Autotesting, AutoSolos, Asphalt Rallying, Forest Rallying and Rallycross. A True Allrounder, securing numerous outright event wins and championship titles through the decades.

In addition to his motorsport competition Alastair has become a regular contributor for television programmes requiring a precision driving element within their production. He has contributed to many productions, having worked with all five UK terrestrial channels and many overseas production companies.

As an interesting side-line to competition and television driving Alastair also regularly contests precision driving Guinness World Records and currently holds nine. This has dramatically raised his public profile which has increased demand for public appearances, driving demonstrations and stunt driving displays.
